This NSF-funded project uses functional genomics to investigate the process of legume root hair infection by nitrogen-fixing rhizobia. This infection initiates the symbiosis between this bacterium and its host that will result in the de novo formation of a novel organ, the nodule.

 Genome Sequencing and Analyses
In a collaborative project, funded by NSF, between the Univ. of Missouri, Washington Univ. Genome Center and Orion Genomics, sample sequencing of the soybean genome was done to test methylfiltration as a means to enrich for gene-rich segments of the genome.
